Stamp, Colour and Cut Out Star
Step 2: Stamp, Colour and Cut Out Star

Using your tiny stamp and the Versa mark watermark stamp pad, stamp 4 or five stamps into each segment. Tip Pink FLIPTEZ on every second segment and colour. On the remaining segments, tip purple FLIPTEZ and repeat the process. For a sharp effect, trace over each segment using a purple coloured pencil. Cut out star.

Making Rose Window
Step 3: Making Rose Window

Place the star in the middle of another piece of water colour art paper. (We found we needed A3 for ours. If necessary, stick 2xA4 pieces together with double sided tape.)

Using compasses, draw a circle around the star. The circle should be at least 2cm from the points of the star.

Step 4: stamping circle for Rose Window and Cutting Out

On the circle you have traced, stamp with tiny stamps using the Versamark watermark stamp pad. Only put stamps where star does not cover. Mix equal quantities of yellow and orange FLIPTEZ in a blending pot and sprinkle over the circle rubbing hard on the outer edges. Cut out circle and glue star to the centre of the circle. Add the jewel or bead of your choice using your glue stick.

Framing Rose Window or Paper Patchwork
Step 5: Framing Rose Window or Paper Patchwork

Place circle on another piece of A3 paper and using your ruler draw a square frame for the Window. Sprinkle green FLIPTEZ onto the square and rub in as darkly as you can. Cut out the square. Place the circle on top of the square and glue.

Your Finished Work
Step 6: Your Finished Work

If you are working in a group, it can look wonderful if the group makes the Rose Window into a Paper Patchwork Quilt by choosing complimentry colours to make 2 different types of Windows. Glue onto off cuts from print shops or newspapers ie long piece of butcher like paper. Hang from the wall to create a stunning effect in a recreation room , classroom or meeting room. It also makes a great gift for an Aged Care Facility and so much more economical than cloth. Some people choose to frame theirs as a unique talking point. Enjoy!
